Notebook Cover Project

July 1, 2010

This spiral bound notebook was a cheap find at the stationery shop.  We’ve given the cover a facelift with some papers and various bits and pieces, this is how we did it.  First thing for this project was to make the JOURNEY tile at the top of the cover using Collections Flash Cards. These come in cream writing on black or black writing on cream.  Very sweet!

Mount the JOURNEY word onto the matching chipboard tiles that you can get specifically for the Flashcards.

Use your chosen Distress Inks to colour your mounted Flashcard.

Now for the base of the cover, we used 2 scrummy sheets of Jenny Bowlin mini 4×4 papers and corner rounded them.  The cream lined paper was stamped with a Tattered Angels clear flourish stamp.  We then used a 7 Gypsies Tag with the top cut off, corner rounded and inked with Distress Ink for the focal part of the cover.  The left over piece of tag was cut in half, one was placed behind the Tim Holtz Filmstrip and the other small piece was corner rounded and tucked in behind the main tag (this is the piece with the numbers on it).  A vintage bingo disc was added as well.

Enjoy, the girls @ Destination Art!!
